The Heroes of Heaven's Height
The Tsu-Dian-Pei is also known as the Great Sand Sea, the Great Southern Ocean, and a host of other names, is an enormous body of liquid sand, quite distinct from the desert which surrounds it, as one can find out simply by making the wrong step.
It runs for thousands of miles from east to west, and several hundred miles north to south. Despite the perceptions of those outside of the South, it is not barren, but actually teeming with strange and unusual life, from the qat-hirra, to the inqiyat.
It is dotted with small oases of more conventional life, and hundreds of cities, little villages and trading posts build on outcroppings of rock, fragments of surviving Green Valleys, or the backs of the ha-pto. There are also paths of solid land that run along the sea, but they are indistinguishable to the naked eye, which necessitates knowledgeable cartographers aboard any respectable sandship.
The goddess of the Tsu-Dian-Pei is Yu-Tian.
